   Mohatma Gandhi once said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." Scouting promotes the ideals, values, and virtues that can be seen as dying in today's society. Consequently, the Kings Point Eagle Scout Association sees scouting as the change it wants in the world. We are very proud that our camporee offers scouts an opportunity to become a part of that change. The Kings Point Invitational Camporee was founded in 1991 through the valiant efforts of Jim Thrall. It has since become an event rich in tradition and a central part in many scouting memories. Over the years, many different experiences have been offered and many doors opened to scouts who have visited our grounds, which offer a breathtaking view of New York City from under the Throgs Neck Bridge and across the Long Island Sound. Now, as the sun sets on the anniversary of an event which began exactly a decade ago, the sun also rises on a new century for scouting. Join us this year for our 10th anniversary as we "Launch A New Century" in scouting memories. Our event has a new breath and a whole new look for the next millenium. It promises to be an experience of a lifetime and the first amoung the best in a brand new century. In life, many things will catch your eye, but only few will catch your heart. Scouting has caught our hearts, and we hope it will catch yours too. We look forward to seeing you here in May so we can all be part of the change we want to see in the world!!!
