ALAN R. CLARKE
Alan R. Clarke was a deck Cadet on board the SS Meriwether Lewis.
This ship was torpedoed and suck on the day March 2, 1943 by a German Sub
in the North Atlantic. The destination of the ship was the United Kingdom but their
voyage came to a tragic end. The
ship turned into a cemetery as 44 merchant crew and
28 Naval Armed Guards died in this attack.
