CHARLES
GASSNER
Charles Gassner was one of the
brave King’s Point cadets killed in action during World War II. Gassner, a deck cadet, was aboard the SS Louis Lykes,
a freighter. The SS Louis Lykes
was at first reported missing. However,
confirmed later by German records, the ship was torpedoed by a German submarine
on January 9, 1943.
