DONALD S. WRIGHT

    Cadet Donald S. Wright was a deck cadet aboard the SS Cornelia P. Spencer.  The liberty ship was torpedoed by German submarine U-188 (Ludden) at 0443 GCT on September 21, 1943 about 300 miles off the coast of Somolia while en route alone from Aden to South Africa.  She carried 2900 tons of steel and 300 tons of gum arabic.  Donald S. Wright was one of the two who were killed.
