JOHN McKELVEY

John McKelvey, a deck cadet, was another courageous King’s Pointer who gave all that he had for his country during World War II. McKelvey’s story is an odd one. His ship, the SS James McKay, left New Foundland to join convoy HX-207, but on December 6, 1942, it fell back and the ship and its crew were never seen again. It was later reported that the ship was torpedoed on December 7th, 1942 by a German U-Boat.
