WILLIAM GINNELLY

William Ginnelly was an engine Cadet on the SS Scapa Flow. It was a foreign flagged vessel under control of the war shipping administration. On November 14, 1942 the ship was torpedoed by a German U-Boat while on it’s way back to Philadelphia from Trinidad. The ship was in horrible condition to begin with, and sunk in less than a minute.
